Cuba, Hot Destination for IT Outsourcing
Cuba...the "new" conutry for IT outsourcing especially for Canadian companies.
Cuba's IT sector has steadily grown since 1991 and currently there are 45,00 highly skilled workers, 38% of then have specialized degrees.
They specialise in the technical services and software development, where 85% of their IT employment occurs.
"We´ve been investing in this sector for the last 14 years and we now have highly skilled IT workers at every level," says Luis Marin, general manager of Avante, the marketing arm of Cubas Ministry of Information Technology and Communications. "IT doesn´t require a lot of investment . . . except in human resources."
